What I did… Relay for Life is THE way to do community service! All money raised goes to support the American Cancer Society.

What is Relay for Life? Much more than a walk around a track, Relay is a time to celebrate those who have battled cancer, remember those lost and get inspired to fight back. By participating, you have the power to continue the American Cancer Society's progress toward a future where cancer doesn't take the lives of our friends and family.

A little history… It began in 1985 in Tacoma, Washington 24 hour run against Cancer. Was not originally called “Relay for Life” but “City of Destiny Classic 24-Hour Run Against Cancer”

F.Y.E. Here’s our FYE Stand, the theme was “Hanging out to dry”

Money Maker We raised money by tye-dying shirts and towels

Me and the BIG guy… That would be Me… and… Cole… at 5am.

Shake what yo’ momma gave ya! Sebastien as Pricilla… I’d have to say that’s one sexy she-male!

In honor… and in memory… We lit Luminaries in honor and in memory of those who passed and survived Cancer.

Did I have fun? Hanging up a beautiful poster board dress… and me and Elizabeth holding down skittles while my brother jacks the money! So did I have fun… heck yes I did!

Why is it important? Because helping out the community is ALWAYS a good thing. Make an impact on others. You have a chance to give back to others who otherwise may not have a chance.

What did I learn? Giving back to the community is important Life isn’t always about thinking about yourself, it’s about investing in others too Doing community service can make a big difference Makes me feel good about myself
