Advertising Lesson 1

Culture Words Diet, Deep-Clean, Girl Talk, Makeover, Thighs, Dating, Skin, Teenager, Hot Oil Treatment, Acne, Healthy, Boyfriend, Healthy, Weight Loss, Shiny, Beauty Tips and Chocolate. What connections can you draw between these words? When you hear these words how do they make you feel? How closely do these words relate to you? In pairs, choose three of these words and create three abstract (metaphors) Still Images that show to use how these words make you feel. When you perform, say the words out loud in the same emotion.

Opinion Continuum 1.Chocolate is nicer than Coke (starter) 2.Girls feel more pressure to look attractive than boys do 3.Seeing a beautiful model on an advert makes me want to buy the product 4.I only buy things whose brand name I recognise 5.I feel influenced by what I see on TV when it comes to knowing what to wear and how to look
