Must have an income of less than £30,000 Snapshot For England: Total Request – £102,134,953 Total Award – £63,234,998 Success rate – 63.34% Snapshot for Bournemouth (Last financial year we received 17 applications from Bournemouth (26 in previous year) projects and 12 were successful (18 in previous year). In total we awarded £110, 214 with an average success rate of just over 57%

Age Concern Bournemouth £10,000 from Awards for All Funding: The group will use the funding to recruit a team of personal trainers who will be trained in delivering the OTAGO falls prevention programme with older people. This will improve beneficiaries health and well being by reducing the risk of falling and increasing confidence. Awards for All – project

South Coast Tigers – Wheelchair Basketball Club £9,828 from Awards for All Funding: To develop a wheelchair basketball club and also deliver coaching qualifications and training courses. This will develop the beneficiaries' life skills, self esteem, promote interactions with others and give them a more positive outlook. This will also improve the communities understanding of disabilities and bring able bodied young people and young people with disabilities together. Awards for All – project

Explaining outcomes Programme outcomes: Healthier and more active people Stronger Communities Links to 75 years old, lives alone with no family nearby, sits at home isolated from peers, feels depressed, has poor health and has no car so struggles to attend health appointments Activities: Monthly social outings with peers Weekly trips to shops/post office Dial up booking to enable access to health appointments Weekly trips to leisure centre, ‘Silver Surfers’ sessions and bingo Project outcomes: Feels less isolated Increased independence Improved physical and mental health
