Multiplying Two- and Three- Digit Numbers by a One- Digit Number

Step 1 Think about 3 groups of x

Step 3 Regroup 12 ones as 1 ten and 2 ones. Write down the ones. Carry the tens x 2 1

Step 4 Then multiply the bottom ones times the tens. Add in the one ten you carried over. Think: 6 tens + 1 ten = 7 tens x 2 1

Step 5 Your final answer is x 2 1 Let’s try another problem!
