Activity 92: Noise-Induced Hearing Loss For years, scientists have known that 85 dB is the limit for human hearing. Exposure to sounds louder than that for extended amounts of time can cause significant damage. How loud are your headphones? Having your volume set at about 70% is the 85 dB limit.
