Overview of Summer Career Academy District 214 provided 33 current LTEL and exited students a summer program that aligns with our district’s efforts to engage all students in authentic experiences leading to expanded post secondary opportunities and leadership skills. Focus was on career exploration, exposure to elective pathway courses, and enrichment experiences that: ▪ build background knowledge of post-secondary opportunities ▪ career skills - (resume, interviews) ▪ academic strategies - course selection ▪ leadership skills ▪ culminating capstone project #D214CareerAcademy

Student Experiences and Impact High School District ● 20% increase in student awareness of electives related to careers of interest ● 94% of the students were able to identify a strong interest in one of the 16 career clusters ● Over 90% of the students developed short term and long term goals ● Minimal increase in awareness of Financial Aid options. This continues to be an area of need. ● About 87% of students said they felt they had the tools and experience to work on future goals more independently ● The percentage of students who desired to attend a four-year college increased by almost 20% #D214CareerAcademy
