MANDARIN

What do you know about China? What’s the capital city? What might they eat? Any famous landmarks?

What do you know about China? The Great Wall of China is 8851km long! Chinese New Year is celebrated for 15 days! Hong Kong has more skyscrapers than any other city!

Does anyone know about these?

Which animal are you?

This is the language of Spring Term 2! We hope you enjoy learning Mandarin. Here is a head start on this language, where we will learn the basics and play some fun games!

How do you say the basics? How do you say hello? ( Nee-How )

How do you say the basics? How do you say goodbye? (Zay Jeen)

GAME!!! Now that you have learnt these words, here is a fun game to help you remember them!!! Rules! We will pick 2 people… 1 person to hide this panda, 1 person to try and find who has it! We need your help, because when the second person is trying to find it, you need to help us sing louder. If they’re going in the wrong direction, we sing quieter.

GAME!!! If you are the seeker, you go to the person you think has the Panda and say: Hello, which is Ni Hao. If you don’t have the Panda say dui bu qi which means sorry. If you DO have the Panda, give the seeker the Panda and the seeker says Xie Xie which means thank you! To say “you’re welcome” you say bu ke qi Then you both say zai jian which means goodbye!

Mandarin Number Hand Signs
