Cause for the Korean War

War Begins in North Korean Army crosses the 38 th parallel and invades South Korea U. S. asks the United Nations to send a military force to save the people in South Korea Most of the members of the U. N. Force are Americans

General Douglas MacArthur President Truman appoints General MacArthur to be the Commander in Korea General MacArthur launches a successful invasion that drives the North Korean Army out of South Korea General MacArthur is not satisfied and he wants to widen the war by invading North Korea

General Mac Arthur Goes Too Far! MacArthur was under strict orders not to widen the Korean War to the point that the U. S. would have to fight China and the Soviet Union. MacArthur disobeyed orders because he wanted a wider war. MacArthur criticized President Truman’s policies in the Press. Present Truman fired General MacArthur.

The Korean War Drags On The American people were tired of the Korean War Former General Dwight D. Eisenhower runs for Presedency in 1952 and promises to go to Korea to end the War After Eisenhower takes office, he arranges a cease fire and Korea is divided again at the 38 th Parallel, so the Korean War ends in a stalemate.
