The Reading 1 King 19:1-4

Hello Brother, I've been told by my doctor that I have symptoms of “depression”, and I know and heard that this is not good at all. My question is: I would like to know if the Bible says anything about this problem. Is it sinful for a Christian to suffer from this problem? Is there something in the Bible that can help me get over this problem? Thanks!

Is it sinful for a Christian to be under Depression? Does the Bible have anything to say about this topic that is very common among us today? I am not a doctor, nor pretend to enter a field that is not my field, but I know that the Bible has a lot to say about this topic!

Depression is a state of low mood and aversion to activity that can affect a person's thoughts, behavior, feelings and sense of well-being. People with a depressed mood can feel sad, anxious, empty, hopeless, helpless, worthless, guilty, irritable, ashamed or restless. They may lose interest in activities that were once pleasurable, experience loss of appetite or overeating, have problems concentrating, remembering details or making decisions, and may contemplate, attempt or commit suicide. Insomnia, excessive sleeping, fatigue, aches, pains, digestive problems or reduced energy may also be present.

Anxiety depression “Anxiety in the heart of man causes depression, but a good word makes it glad.”

Salvation from our Sins (Acts 22:16) Children of God (I John 3:1) Every Spiritual Blessing (Eph. 1:3) Always to be Rejoicing (Phil. 4:4) Content in All Circumstances (4:11-12) Eternal Reward in Heaven (2 Tim. 4:8) Can a Christian be Depressed? And now why are you waiting? Arise and be baptized, and wash away your sins, calling on the name of the Lord. ’ 1 John 3:1 Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God! Therefore the world does not know us, because it did not know Him. Ephe 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, Phil 4:4 Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice! Phil 4:11-12 Not that I speak in regard to need, for I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content: I know how to be abased, and I know how to abound. Everywhere and in all things I have learned both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. 1 Tim 4:8 Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing

Job –Chapter 6:1-4; 7:11-12; 16:15-16; 17:1, 15; 30:16-19, David –Psalm 142 Elijah –I Kings 19:1-10 Job 6:1-4 1Then Job answered and said: 2 “Oh, that my grief were fully weighed, And my calamity laid with it on the scales! 3 For then it would be heavier than the sand of the sea Therefore my words have been rash. 4 For the arrows of the Almighty are within me; My spirit drinks in their poison; The terrors of God are arrayed against me. Psalm I cry out to the Lord with my voice; With my voice to the Lord I make my supplication. 2 I pour out my complaint before Him; I declare before Him my trouble. 3 When my spirit was overwhelmed within me, Then You knew my path. In the way in which I walk They have secretly set a snare for me. 4 Look on my right hand and see, For there is no one who acknowledges me; Refuge has failed me; No one cares for my soul. 1 King 19:1-4 1 And Ahab told Jezebel all that Elijah had done, also how he had executed all the prophets with the sword. 2 Then Jezebel sent a messenger to Elijah, saying, “So let the gods do to me, and more also, if I do not make your life as the life of one of them by tomorrow about this time.” 3 And when he saw that, he arose and ran for his life, and went to Beersheba, which belongs to Judah, and left his servant there. 4 But he himself went a day’s journey into the wilderness, and came and sat down under a broom tree. And he prayed that he might die, and said, “It is enough! Now, Lord, take my life, for I am no better than my fathers!”
