Bobcats Did you know bobcats got their name from their bobbed tail?

Physical Characteristics Bobcats have very sharp claws and sharp teeth. They are striped and spotted. When Bobcats are younger, they have darker fur and a little less fluff.

Habitat Bobcats live in North America. They are usually found in deserts. Bobcats like being in the shade.

Adaptations Bobcats have great jaws. Their teeth are very good too. If they didn’t have these amazing jaws their great teeth would not be able to do their job.

Food Bobcats favorite food are snakes, kangaroo rats, and rabbits. They hide then pounce on their food to get it. Sometimes they hide in cactus and wait until their prey gets close.

Their Young Bobcats have babies 2 months after they mate. They usually have 5, 6, or even 7 babies. When the babies are 10 months-old they leave their parents!!

Interesting Facts Bobcats are also known as a red lynx, a felis, or felis rufus. They are all very similar animals. They both are also very cute. (The picture below is a red lynx.)
