1-3 Course Topics Computer Systems : An Overview of Computer Systems Number Systems : Relationships between numbering systems and conversion techniques Data Formats : Different types of data formats, including alphanumeric, image, and sound Floating Point Numbers: Floating-point representations and calculations The Little Man Computer: Use of simple model to develop the concept of an instruction set.
1-4 Course Topics The CPU and Memory: CPU components, Design, Implementation and Enhancement Analysis and Comparison of four CPU architectures: CISC, RISC, VLIW, and EPIC Input / Output: Principles of I/O Operation Computer Peripherals: I/O in various devices Modern Computer Systems, Clusters, and Networks
