LOCAL OPTION SALES TAX FOR EDUCATION APPROVED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES SEPTEMBER 29, 2015

Provisions of the Law Funds may only be used for capital improvements. The tax began in March, It will be administered and collected by the Department of Revenue and distributed to the school district on a monthly basis. The school district will maintain records to demonstrate that tax proceeds are spent only for the purpose as stated. It is very important that the school district follow up on its commitments and promises to the patrons and voters. This approved plan reflects the projects that were indicated as priorities during the referendum process.

Estimated Budget School District District Allocation % Estimate Calculated Amount Per Year Estimate District One9, %$4,400, The 2014 SC Education Capital Improvements Sales and Use Tax Act requires any district to use 10% of the 1 cent proceeds to reduce property taxes by offsetting the existing debt service millage levy on general obligation. However, the Anderson One Board of Trustees has promised to use 20%. $4,400,000 X.20 = $880,000 to Debt Service
