 The purpose of this PowerPoint is to highlight your child’s 2 nd grade school year.  It contains all the information you will need as a parent at home. Hershey Primary Elementary School

Hershey Primary School Walker Notes should be turned in to Mrs. Houck no later than 3:00 pm every day. Or Written note to me in the morning Appointments: Please make at the end of the day to minimize missed academic time Notes for walkers /appointments

Life Savers in Room 34 Students in Room 34 can be added to our life line by demonstrating the C.O.C.O.A principles. They can be identified by a peer or by me. Each month they can earn something different. This month=lunch in the classroom.

Reading Street/Spelling  Students take assessments online  Tests will be located in your child’s BOX account  Scores can be accessed online

WIN (What I need)  WIN is during small group instruction  Our “team” will be: Mrs. Ehrhorn, Mr. Paukovitch, Miss Vondran, and myself  From 11am-12pm we will be switching classrooms to provide more intentional instruction at students academic level.

There are games you can access on this site. If your child forgets their homework, you can print/write assignment at home. This site is also great to reinforce math skills (especially if your child finishes math homework easily). Everyday Math

 Replacing Rocket math  To help students master fact fluency  Will be done twice in school during the week and needs to be done once at home. Reflex

BOX Access your child’s scores for Reading Street Newsletters will be located in the Family Folder as well as any other letters. Initials in Comments to indicate you’ve viewed the tests and letters.

 Math home links will be ripped out at school and will come home Monday-Thursday (check newsletter for what is due each day)  Read 15 minutes Monday-Thursday. In order to verify your child is reading, you need to record how many minutes your child read (the child can write this) in your child’s take home folder. Either initial each night or sign the calendar at the end of the month.  Book-it will begin soon. Homework
