Andrea Roberts

My name is Andrea Roberts. I am 29 years old. I am originally from South Carolina and currently reside in Georgia. I have three children (all girls) under the age of 10. I have worked in Accounting as an Accounts Payable Clerk for seven years and recently accepted a job as a Toddler III Lead Teacher at Elite Children Learning Center. I have experience working with children through several volunteer opportunities within my community. Although I still volunteer every chance I get, I finally have the opportunity to work with children whole- heartedly. My interest are reading, singing, volunteering for any children organization, and arts and crafts. Professional Background/ Experience/ Interest

The type of school setting that I attended as a child was public school. Throughout my life as a child there were two teachers that really influenced and had an impact on my life, but one of them really stood out for me and that was Ms. Elliott, my multicultural literature teacher in the 11 th grade. She was the one that saw it in me that I would be a teacher one day, because I did not see it in myself. Educational Background

5 year plan In the next five years, I see myself working as an elementary school teacher. Since I am getting my fresh start on getting the experience that I need, my ultimate goal for my 5 year mark is to teach at the elementary school level. 10 year plan In the next ten years, I want to become an advocate for at-risk kids who are in need of help because of the circumstances they are in. I also see myself continuing to work with youth groups through volunteer work and mentoring programs that are available. Future Career

Receiving my master’s degree in Early Childhood Education will help with my future role as an Elementary teacher by gaining further knowledge of why children are an important part of society and why it is important to give them the education that they deserve to become productive citizens to today’s world.
