ENERGY CRISIS IN NIGERIA

Climate Nigeria has an amazing landscape and and the temperature can vary from 50 to 100 degrees fahrenheit. Nigeria tends to get 170 inches of rain a year.

Background Nigeria also has an abundance of oil, but it is not being used to its full potential.

PETROLEUM Nigeria has five refineries which can process 450,000 barrels of oil each day sadly this is not happening. Nigeria's refineries are struggling to operate at 40% capacity. oil refinery

ELECTRICITY BLACKOUTS It might be shocking but Nigeria experiences electricity blackouts a lot more than we do, this slows the production in the refineries. Even our school doesn't have blackouts as much as buildings in Nigeria do!

A Possible Solution The petroleum refineries need to hire more workers to make the refineries more efficient the workers could get paid by selling some of the the petroleum while keeping some of the petroleum for Nigeria with the money they get from selling the petroleum.
