This results in a great fear, and he refuses to go near a horse. Sundance was mistreated and taken to a slaughter house. Because of this, she is deathly afraid of humans. Soon, however, they overcome their fear of one another because they understood that both of them have been mistreated. Matthew addresses their natural understanding when he state, “she took to me right off. Guess I’m the only one who really understood her.”
