Quicktime

Open media Window --> Show AV controls

Quicktime Playback speed is in the bottom right of the AV control

VLC

Open media Make sure View - -> Status Bar is on Click the 1.00x at bottom

VLC Double clicking the 1.00x gives you a slider to adjust playback speed

Windows Media Player

Open media. (You may first need to hit Control-M to reveal the File-Open menu) Now Playing - Enhancements - Play Speed Settings

Windows Media Player Slider at bottom left lets you control playback
