Sugars  Most names for sugars end in -ose  Classified by number of carbons  hexose (glucose)  pentose (fructose, ribose)  triose (glyceraldehyde)

Sugar Structure  5C & 6C sugars form rings in aqueous solutions  in cells! Carbons are numbered!
