Lecture Capture Overview Lecture Capture is; At minimum, audio plus electronic content (like powerpoint) Known as ‘vodcast’ Available 24 x 7 Synchronized and indexed for ease of navigation Can also include instructor video (talking head) For us, this is NOT synchronous web conferencing A topic for another day Supports ‘blended learning’ Recorded lectures for review Supplemental materials, prerecorded lectures 31 January 2012 UTFAB Presentation 3

LC Landscape at CSU Mediasite – requires an operator DCE, TILT, CVMBS, COB Hardware based Some units using Mediasite are choosing to not renew Panopto – content stored off site Managed by DCE (however, they have transitioned to Echo) Software based Favored over Adobe Connect Echo360 – content stored on site CAHS initiative Hardware AND software based solutions There are others likely 31 January 2012 UTFAB Presentation 4
