The answer to an addition problem.

What is the sum?

The numbers that are added

What is an addend?

The answer to a subtraction problem.

What is the difference?

A single numeral; 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, or 9 that holds a specific place value

What is a digit?

The Numbers that are multiplied.

What is a factor?

The amount of space inside a 2-dimensional shape; L X W = A

What is area?

The ability to divide a shape into 2 identical mirror-image halves

What is line of symmetry?

Rotating a shape

What is a turn?

The average number in a group of data

What is the mean?

The middle number in a group of ordered data

What is the median?

Describes the process used to create a pattern or tells how to change numbers in a function machine -10 or OUT = IN x 3

What are rules?

Changing the order of the numbers does not change the answer. 7 x 4 = 4 x = = = 14

What is commutative property?

Changing the grouping of the numbers does not change the answer. ( ) + 8 = 14 + (12 + 8) = = 34

What is associative property?

A way to rewrite multiplication over addition without changing the answer. 3 x = 3 x x 7 3 x 12 = = 36

What is distributive property?

A letter or symbol that stands for an unknown number. 3 x T = 18 T = 6

What is a variable?

A flat surface of a solid figure.

What is the face?

Is the distance around the outside of a closed figure. Sum of all sides.

What is the perimeter?

A line segment where two faces of a solid figure meet.

What is an edge?

Two figures that have the same shape and sides that are proportional to each other.

What are similar figures?

The point where two line segments meet.

What is the vertex?

A way to display data for easier comparison using bars.

What is a bar graph?

A way to display data that changes over time.

What is a line graph?

The element of a data set that appears the most.

What is mode?

How likely or unlikely an event is to happen, often expressed as a fraction.

What is probability?

The difference between the greatest and the least element of a data set.

What is range?
