Russia and Conflict What do you already know about Russia and conflict?

Learning Objectives ALL: must identify the reasons for conflict between Russia and the Ukraine MOST: should describe and explain the conflict between Russia and the Ukraine SOME: could evaluate the future of conflict between Russia and neighbouring states

Your Task In pairs you have been given some key words. Your task is to use these words to come up with a headline for the following photo of Russia and the Ukraine!

What is happening here? Why are these people protesting?

Ukraine’s revolution that began last November has escalated into a full-blown international crisis, as Russia now finds itself against the West in its struggle to preserve its strategic military and economic interests. Russia’s actions to Ukraine are concerning to leaders in Europe and the United States, who wish to prevent Ukraine from falling under Russian control. As tensions continue to rise across Eastern Europe, onlookers wonder how the situation between Ukraine and Russia spiraled out of control so quickly and what they can expect to happen next.

Your Task You are going to be researching the Ukraine Russia conflict. Your task is to use the newspaper articles on your desks to answer the following questions!
