CITY OF GLENDALE, CA October 17, 2015 SAFE ROUTES TO SCHOOL – PHASE 3 PROGRAM IMPROVEMENT S ADJACENT TO BENJAMIIN FRANKLIN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

Goals of the Safe Routes to School Program (SRTS) Reduce injuries and fatalities to school children. Enhance the safety of the pathways, trails, sidewalks and crossings to attract and encourage other students to walk and bike to school.

NAMES OF THE SCHOOLS SRTS Phase 3 School Locations: Benjamin Franklin Elementary School Cerritos Elementary School Chamilian Armenian School Thomas Edison Elementary School Valley View Elementary School

PROJECT LOCATION MAP

SCOPE OF WORK Modification of curb return and Installation of bulb outs and curb ramps

SCOPE OF WORK Widen Winchester to create a drop off zone for the students

SCOPE OF WORK Install traffic circles at Justin/Garden St & Justin/Randall St. Intersections

SCOPE OF WORK Install new sidewalk on Randall Street and Justin Ave

SCOPE OF WORK Fill the parkway on South side of Lake Street between Winchester and Justin and North side of Randall between Winchester and Justin with Concrete. Remove existing six street trees on Winchester and planting new trees. Reconstruction/Resurfacing of existing pavement at select intersections.
