After this lesson the students will be able to- write the sentences using right forms of verbs. fill the gaps with right forms of verbs (with clues). correct mistakes and re-write the passage with right forms of verbs.

The sun rises in the east. If the sentence is Universal truth or Habitual fact, it will be Present Indefinite tense. (sub + v1 v1 +ob/ext)

He reads the Holy Quran everyday. If in the sentence there is everyday//always/regularly/ occasionally/usually/often/sometimes/ generally, the sentence will be Present Indefinite tense. (sub + v1 +ob/ext)

Rana is playing cricket now. If in the sentence there is now/at this moment/at this time, the sentence will be Present Continuous tense. (sub +am/is/are+ v+ing +ob/ext)

I have recently visited Cox’s Bazar. If in the sentence there is recently/already/just/just now/lately/ever/yet, the sentence will be Present Perfect tense.

We should take care of our health. If in the sentence there is - shall/should/can/could/may/might/will/ would/need/must/would rather/had better, verb will be in base form.

It has been raining for three hours. If in the sentence there is for/since+ time the sentence will be Present Perfect Continuous Tense.

Once there lived a princess. If in the sentence there is once/ago/long ago/last night/last week/last year/yesterday,previous, the sentence will be Past Indefinite tense.

They had reached the school before the bell rang. The clause(Past Perfect)+ before +The clause (Past Indefinite). If in the past tense there is word ‘before’ between two clauses, the sentence structure will be-

The children went to their bed after they had finished their study. The clause(Past Indefinite)+after +The clause (Past Perfect). If in the past tense there is word ‘after’ between two clauses, the sentence structure will be-

We saw them playing.

The boys wanted to climb the tree.

If in a simple sentence there are two verbs, one verb will be present participle(verb + ing) or before that verb there will be ‘to’ + verb(base form) We saw them playing. The boys wanted to climb the tree.

It is high time farmers planted paddy. If in the sentence there is It is time/It is high time/I fancy/Would rather that, after the subject of these words verb will be in Past Indefinite form.

If in the sentence there is- have/has/had/having/being +verb, the verb will be past participle. We have visit Potenga. visited Having finish my exam I went to visit there. finished

If in the sentence there is- as if, as though, wish, fancy, the main verb will be in the past form, but -if (be),the verb will be- ‘were’. I wish I (be) a baby again. He talks as if he (know) all. were knew

He will send me an sms tomorrow. I go to Parries next month. I shall go to Parries next month. He send me an sms tomorrow. If in the sentence there is- tomorrow, next/following+(day/night/week/month/year), the sentence will be future indefinite tense.(s+shall/will+v 1 +…..) If in the sentence there is- tomorrow, next/following+(day/night/week/month/year), the sentence will be future indefinite tense.(s+shall/will+v 1 +…..)

If in the sentence there is- preposition of, in, for, by, from,with, without etc + verb, the verb will be gerund (v+ing). By do the work I went at home.. We can’t go out without read the book. By doing the work I went at home.. We can’t go out without reading the book.
