Region I IPP Advisory Board Meeting June 14 and 15, 2010 Wells, ME Chlamydia Testing during Pregnancy Test Only (PTO) Visits

Infrastructure Objective Pregnancy test only clients –Disseminate a regional epidemiologic profile of pregnancy-testing only clients seen in prevalence monitoring clinics

Family Planning Annual Report (FPAR) Data Data set designed to provide national-level data on the Title X Family Planning Program Limitations –No/Limited information about CT testing outcomes –No “PTO” visit type –No risk data Source Data

Objectives Provide descriptive data for each state –How often is CT testing provided during a “Pregnancy Test Only” visit By age By race/ethnicity Provide 5-year data trends Compare PTO CT testing rates to overall CT testing rates Compare PTO CT testing rates CT testing rates during pelvic exams

PTO Visit Definition Includes: visits with pregnancy test (PT) and/or CT test, GC test, HIV test, emergency contraception, or blood pressure during the same visit Excludes: visits with PT and physical exam, or other STD testing (e.g. HPV, Hep B or C)
