A-G Requirements for 4 Year Colleges All Classes require a C or better for four year colleges Other than in Math and Foreign Language, closely mirrors our graduation requirements Possible for all students Insures readiness for all post high school plans- community college, technical schools, military, careers
A-G Categories A- History/Social Science 2 years- World History, 1 year of US History and/or US Govt. B- English- 4 years C- Mathematics- Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2 minimum D- Science- 2 years One year of Biology, One year of Physical Science, Chemistry for UC schools E- Foreign Language- Minimum of 2 years of the SAME language OR be fluent in a language other than English and be able to test F- Fine Arts- One full year of the same course G- Elective- One year of a college prep elective- could be in additional English, Science or Math

UC System Cal State System Pros: Affordable Diverse majors Lots of locations and types of campuses Cons: Reduced budgets Impaction Higher student/faculty ratio Private Ex. USC Stanford Loyola Marymount Pros: Low student/faculty ratios Lots of student support Large endowments for scholarships Cons: COST- without scholarships or financial aid- EXTREMELY EXPENSIVE
Financial Aid Never too early to start planning Start educating yourselves now on types of financial aid Even a few dollars a week in a 529 account will add up great resource for education on financial aid
