Marketing our business A 5 minute brief on Marketing for Pathway Group Staff and Associates By Safaraz Ali Tel:

What is marketing?  It’s how a business decides what it will offer, to whom, when and how  It’s about meeting the needs and requirements of our clients  It’s about finding ways to provide the services that they need  It’s an integral part of our business, not a separate function or department  It holds the key to sustaining us, delivering growth and further success

Marketing - How does it make you feel? Marketing -Who does it? Marketing -What role do you have? Marketing -What would make you good at it? Who do you associate with marketing? A O NE M INUTE S ELF A NALYSIS

The basics  Know our product/services – review our websites and literature: and as well as connecting with our facebook.com/pathwaygroup, facebook.com/apprenticeship, and our company Linkedin page as a minimum!  Understand the market we are working in: work based learning and the Welfare to Work sectors  Be aware of our organisation’s marketing objectives and updates for the month/quarter  Have knowledge of any promotions, or targets that we are working to  Know our competition and be aware of what they are doing- Share any ideas or good practice you have seen  Know how to sell our product/service – including criteria for funding and any constraints  Know what to do with the information you have gathered

PhoneLetter InternetIn person F IRST IMPRESSIONS MATTER

Features and benefits  A feature is a description of our service  A benefit is what difference that makes to our clients life  People are interested in and buy benefits, not features  Remember - “So What?” principle

Marketing..general thoughts  Understand that people don’t care about the product or service: they care about themselves and solving their problems. At Pathway- we have many solutions that help individuals and businesses, do you know all of them?  Remember to see it through our clients’ eyes  Relationships are built by personal contact  Don’t be afraid to talk to people – If possible avoid using as a substitute to talking to people  Everyone at Pathway should be involved in promoting our services and in fact selling our services wherever possible

A nd Finally…marketing...  Is NOT somebody else's job  It’s fun and should provide all of us with personal satisfaction when executed well!  It’s significant to all our livelihoods  It’s the life blood of our business  Talk to me about anything here or any ideas/business opportunities – / or
