One Snowy Day One day my sister and I shoveled snow. It had snowed a lot that night. Our driveway was totally white. “This sure is hard,” I said. “Let’s make it a game,” my sister said. We tried to see who could shovel the fastest. It was hard work, but the game made it fun. Soon the driveway was clear. Mom brought us hot cocoa for doing such a great job. Copying permitted

You are digging in the ground as part of a school project. Your shovel strikes something hard. You look down at the ground and see something unusual. Write a story about what happens. Pretend that you find a magic skateboard. The skateboard can take you anywhere you choose to go. Write about where you would go and what you would do. Imagine if you woke up one day with the ability to become invisible. Write a story about what you would do and where you would go. Copying permitted Writing Prompts

Imagine that one day you find a magic mirror. The mirror can allow anyone in the world to appear before you. Tell a story about the person that you would choose and what the two of you would do, while together. Think about a time in your life when you were afraid but did something anyway. Tell your readers about the event, how you overcame your fear, and what you learned from the experience. Write about a time something horrible went wrong. Tell the readers about how that day unfolded. Share your thoughts and feelings of that experience.
