Planet Awareness Research

Environmental Awareness *Achieved through environmental education *Crucial to the development of children, as it “promotes the use of higher-order thinking skills, encourages informal experiences in school as well as outdoors [outside of school]…in order to make a contribution to the environment” (Goncharova 137).

Research Cont. * Such a process of combining active learning with environmental awareness is a sure way to simultaneously foster “an appreciation of the environment, […] developing knowledge, skills, attitudes, values and a commitment that allows active participation in decision-making” (Goncharova 142).

Planet Awareness Integration into Curriculum Create Outdoor Lessons for Students Provide opportunities for students to engage in outdoor activities such as watering plants and planting seeds. Literacy integration: Johnny Appleseed, Jack and the Beanstalk, The Tiny Seed, etc.
