T EACHER F EEDBACK “They are exposed to other customs and languages. They have the opportunity to experience food that they might not at home. Days when we have Live Healthy the students are very excited.” “My students are learning about new foods, new cultures and taking some risks. They are being given tasks to complete they may not have the opportunity at home to participate in. They feel like an important part of the process because they are trusted to help prepare the food.” “I often hear parents says their (picky) kid comes home excited to try a new meal!” “It has opened some of their minds to trying new foods. I've had students proudly tell me that they're trying new fruits at home.”
P ARENT F EEDBACK From the mother of a third grade student at West Elementary: “Confetti Quinoa, it's what's for dinner! Thanks to Live Healthy Appalachia's Live Healthy Kids program for teaching my big guy this recipe. It's healthy, delicious, and everyone likes it - all a mama could ask for.”
S TUDENT F EEDBACK “What I liked best about LHK was that we got to learn different cultures and the teachers were really nice and the dishes were really good.” “[I liked that] I got to cook and eat and have a good time with my friends.” “What I liked best about LHK was that we got to learn different cultures and the teachers were really nice and the dishes were really good.”
