Welcome to Back to School Night

Who is Mrs. Wallace I am a military spouse, who is just returning from an assignment in Korea. I come to you from a DoDEA school on Osan, AB. I am originally from Georgia, I graduated from Mercer University. I have multiple teaching certifications including: Gifted, Social Studies, English, Humanities, ESOL, and Middle Grades Integrated Curriculum. I finish my Master’s degree in December in Curriculum and Instruction! I will commit myself fully to helping your child master the content in my classes.

My Teaching Philosophy in 5 sentences All children can learn! Every child has a gift – something that makes them unique and awesome! Children should be allowed to think critically and be actively engaged in the learning process while at school. Parents are an essential part of the educational team. (I have an open door policy) Classes should be engaging, interesting, and relevant.

Success Secrets 1. Have your student invest their time in making their notebook terrifically organized! This notebook can be a lifeline if test-taking poses a problem!

Success Secrets 2.Check the website. I download interactive review games, extra copies of worksheets, and updated homework information on my site. serths/

Success Secrets 3. Come to class prepared. Students should have their books, notebooks, and a pen/pencil every day.

Success Secrets 4.Check grades online. I will update grades on a weekly basis.

Success Secrets 5. Seek Help! If your child is struggling with a project, test, or homework assignment – tell them to come see me. I am available before and after school.

Success Secrets 6.Online Review Games. I create interactive review sheets before each test and most quizzes. The students can answer questions and practice for their test. If they don’t have access to a computer, I can provide a hard copy for them.

Success Secrets 7. Communicate with me! I encourage communication from both students and parents. Let’s not let tonight be the last time we talk (about good things)! You are also welcome to visit anytime!
