What is Student Government? Student government is a great opportunity for you to make a difference in your school and community. Student government allows you to be a voice for your fellow students to the faculty and administration. Student government helps to plan school-sponsored activities (like Spirit Week) as well as community activities. Student government is also a great experience to include in your college applications and resumes!

Class Officer This is an elected position Freshmen: Must have at least a 77 in 3 out of 4 classes Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors: Meet and maintain 2.0 minimum GPA Submit Completed Application Obtain 2 Teacher Recommendations and 1 Administrative Recommendation No behavioral issues resulting in ISS or OSS REQUIREMENTS

Student Body Vice President RESPONSIBILITIES Chairperson of Judiciary Committee Communicate with class presidents 2nd recommendation to advisors for camp/conferences REQUIREMENTS Must have served one year on Executive Council Must be rising junior or senior (current sophomore or junior)

Student Body Secretary RESPONSIBILITIES Serve on Judiciary committee Record minutes for officer and student body meetings to report to SB president—monthly Manage all attendance (master copy) Report all attendance issues to SB VP and advisors REQUIREMENTS Rising sophomore or junior (current freshman or sophomore)

Student Body Treasurer RESPONSIBILITIES Manage all SG funds (master budget with account balances) Request money for non- class events Manage class money requests and forward to advisor for approval REQUIREMENTS Rising sophomore or junior (current freshman or sophomore)

Senator RESPONSIBILITIES Attend all class (1 per month) and student body meetings 2 absences allowed More than 2 absence may result in removal Serve on committees as appointed REQUIREMENTS This is a NON-elected position Freshmen: Must have at least a 77 in 3 out of 4 classes Submit Completed Application No behavioral issues resulting in ISS or OSS

Timeline: Application-to-Run (online) & Recommendations: Wednesday, October 14 th by 3:45 p.m. to Ms. Cook (rm 712) or Ms. Winchester (rm 805).  Recommendations will be turned in by teachers and administrators. Campaigning: Monday, October 19 th through Thursday, October 22 nd. Elections: Friday, October 23 rd. Runoff: If needed, runoffs will occur Wednesday, October 28 th.
