NEA Energy Champions Role –Included 2 PCT staff from Yorkshire Region 4 years ago –Training not ideally relevant for health professionals –Champions have been tenacious and continued the work using the nominal title

Devise an appropriate training package for Health Professionals Roll out across the Region (14 PCT’s) Develop the role of the Energy Champion to recruit and train Energy Advocates

Reasons for this model –Sustainability –Pyramid function to cascade information –Awareness raising in health arena –Potential to role out to other statutory agencies –Creation of information and resources –Links to agencies and partners made clear

Action Plan Presentation to Regional Directors of Public Health Group Sign up event – Presentation to PCT Affordable Warmth Leads to encourage recruitment of Energy Champions Sub-regional Energy Champions Training Energy Advocates Training Central resources for each PCT secured and stored

Outcomes Energy Advocates raise awareness at discrete team meetings Energy Champions & Advocates attend Regional Fuel Poverty Forum x 3 per year NEA Regional Co-ordinator provides regular updates Experienced Energy Champions act as mentors
