REI FLOOR PLAN Since the space was very huge, it was impossible for me to actually plan the interior space of it. Therefore I decided to work on the exterior of the structure, reflecting the true REI structure. LEVEL 1 LEVEL 2 During my research phase, I searched thousands of REI’s around the world and tried to find what they all had in common.
REI ELEVATIONS I wanted my space to have a lot of windows since REI is associated with the outdoors. I wanted to pull the nature aspects into the interior space by incorporating a lot of natural light. REI RENDERINGS REI seems to have one common factor with its exterior design. They all seem to have some type of stucco, rock, wood, and metal along the exterior face. Also wood trellis seems to be a common aspect in the REI Design, therefore I decided to contribute that in the interior and exterior part of the structure. INTERIOR IDEAS For the interior space, I would love to incorporate a rock wall in the center of the space leading up to the second floor. I definitely would add some type of wood mural on the second floor balcony which then would reflect through the entrance windows. Adding wooden furniture throughout the space will give the essence of nature. MURAL INSPIRATION
