Classroom Procedures Mrs. Menkveld

#1 Passing Period 1.Quiet feet and quiet voices in hallway. 2.Line up along wall with shoulder touching wall. 3.Walk up and down stairs on right side.

#2 Entering Class 1.Voices off. 2.Check materials list and get items out. 3.Sharpen pencils before the bell. 4.Be in seat by bell or you’re tardy.

#3 Beginning Class 1.Voices off. 2.Copy planner and begin seat work.

#4 Instructional Time 1.S.M.A.R.T. 2.Focus on instruction. 3.Listen for teacher cues.

#5 If you are late… 1.Don’t be late!! 2.Put late pass in gray bin by door. Don’t interrupt the teacher or class.

#6 Bathroom 1.Use bathrooms on your own time. 2.If you must, raise your hand showing an “r.” 3.Fill out clipboard completely AND take it with you.

#7 Health Office 1.Raise hand and make “n” for nurse. 2.If excused, get pass from teacher. 3.Emergency….Just go!

#8 If you are absent… 1.Don’t be! 2.Copy another student’s planner. 3.Get needed papers from red basket. 4.C3B4 Me! 5. If you still have questions, come after school.

#9 Passing out and collecting papers 1.Papers are passed out from center of room. 2.Take one and pass it on quickly. 3.Papers passed in down the rows. 4.Last student in row paper clips row together and turns into period bin.

#10 Finishing Work Early 1.Check your work. 2.Help another student near you. 3.Maydo Activity. 4.Read a book or do homework.

#11 Getting your attention 1.Chimes/Bell--Stop, look, listen 2.“Class” “Yes” 3.Counting down 4.If you can hear my voice…..

#12 Asking Questions 1.Whole Group--Raise Hand 2.Partner / Group / Individual--Raise Folder and keep working.

#13 Pencils 1.Mechanical pencils preferred. 2.Pencil sharpeners must have a shavings catcher. 3.Have 2-3 pencils with you everyday. 4.Sharpen pencils BEFORE class. 5.No pencil? Borrow and RETURN.

#14 Sink/Water 1.Bring a water bottle with you--with lid. 2.You may fill your bottle BEFORE class. 3.No hand washing w/o permission.

Turning In Absent/Late Work 1.You are responsible for missed work! 2.Absent = 2 days to make up before its late. 3.Late work is 10% off per day late. 4.Turn into gray bin. 5.Put a note on the top “LATE” or “ABSENT”

#15 Ending Class 1.Put materials and supplies away. 2.Clean up trash, straighten tables, and push in chairs.
