Introduction to Entrepreneurship Entrepreneurs – Nonprofit Business – Social Entrepreneurs – A person who creates and organizes a new business. A business that is not run for the purpose of making a profit, but to increase the well-being of others in certain areas, such as education, religion, health and other causes. A person who starts a business with a social issue as the primary focus.

Entrepreneurship: Myths and Facts Entrepreneurs have to be risk takers. People are born with the traits to be a successful entrepreneur or not; it’s genetic. One in every 12 people in the U.S. workforce is in a small, start-up business. Successful entrepreneurs don’t need formal training in a business school. Entrepreneurship is about getting rich fast.
