What Happened ? The Continental Army was sent to Valley Forge for the winter. There was extremely harsh conditions to live in. It was very cold and they died from frostbite and starvation.

When and Where did it happen? In 1778, Valley Forge was located about 20 miles west of the British.

Who was involved? George Washington was the leader of the Continual army. Marquid De Lafaytte and Friedrich Von Stewben came from France and Germany to help with the army.

Why did it happen? The Patriot army needed a place to stay to wait out the Winter.
