 The process of providing or obtaining the food necessary for health and growth.  Good Nutrition= to getting the right amount of nutrients from healthy foods in the right combinations  A key factor in developing and maintaining good health

 A guide to help people make the best eating choices  A daily reminder of how to better give your body the nutrients it needs  Everything in moderation  Achieving a balanced diet

 Daily Recommendation= 3 ounces  In general, 1 slice of bread, 1 cup of ready-to-eat  cereal, or ½ cup of cooked rice, cooked pasta, or  cooked cereal can be considered as 1 ounce equivalent from the Grains Group.  6-8 servings per day is suggested in your daily  intake  A source of antioxidants  fiber, vitamin E, iron, and B vitamins

 Daily Recommendation= 5 ounces  It is best to maintain 3-6 oz per day  The body uses proteins for energy in the body  After water, protein is the most plentiful substance in the body  Protein builds, maintains, and replaces the tissues in your body

 Children 9-13 years old should have 1 ½ cups of fruit every day  Children 9-13 year old also need 2-2 ½ cups of vegetables every day  Vitamin C is important for growth and repair all body tissues, helps heal cuts and wounds, and keeps teeth and gum health  4-5 servings per day is requested in your daily intake
