2016 General Conference Schedule Information SUSAN BRUMBAUGH, COORDINATOR OF THE CALENDAR

2016 General Conference Schedule Created by the Commission on the General Conference Appears on page 5-10 of the ADCA (Volume 1: Handbook for Delegates) ◦Handy tip: Print out those pages separately to have on hand.

Changes from 2012 Plenary celebrations and presentations are spread throughout rather than being grouped together in a “ministry celebration” evening session. Worship has been moved from the end of the day to the beginning of each day. Daily adjournment time has changed from 9:30 pm to 6:30 pm, except on Saturday evening. ◦In 2012, there was a 2.5-hour dinner break at 5:00, followed by a 1-hour business session and 1-hour worship. ◦By extending the afternoon session to 6:30 and reducing the lunch break, the available time for legislative and plenary work is similar to 2012.

2012/2016 Comparison of Time

Use of Time One challenge we face is when plenary presenters use more time than they were given. ◦For example, in 2012, the “ministry celebration” on Sunday evening went 1.25 hours longer than scheduled. The Commission heard the concerns of 2012 delegates and worked to ensure plenary speakers use only the time they are given: ◦We were conservative in approving time requests. ◦We are requiring presenters to submit scripts and videos in advance and revise them if they are too long. ◦We will turn off the microphone and stop videos when presenters exceed the approved time.
