What Is The Diamond Coronet? The coronet has a row of thirteen scrolled palmettes (a fan- like shape of leaves on a palm tree), alternating with a lotus pattern. The upper section was made around 1893 and was set throughout with cushion-shaped diamonds. The base has a row of lozenge motifs set between two lines of more cushion shaped diamonds and dates from around It is mounted in silver and gold. When Was It Made Made in 1893 by A.E Skinner. Made in London at A.E Skinner and Co shop. Made and given as a gift to the duchess with in one year of manufacture.

A.E Skinner Skinner and co was founded in 1881 by Alfred Ernest Skinner. Trained with Messrs Catchpole and Williams, the well-known firm of London jewellers. In the 1890’s A.E Skinner went to the palace to show queen Victoria his jewlery. A E Skinner & Co. continued to hold the Royal Warrant without interruption until it merged with Bentley & Co. in 1998.
