Keep RESPECT working Use barriers / Respect Line around pitches Cone off a technical area for coaches on opposite side of pitch to spectators Ensure Referees initiate the RESPECT handshake before a match. It’s Working

Youth football – awareness of social media.

Wheres Klaus

Protect your Children Social media should be monitored by parents Check their security settings, For more information go to the Child Exploitation and online protection Centre. Ask your players not to request or accept managers, coaches or club officials as friends on facebook or other networking sites. Provide your own (parents) contact details for club officials or sign a consent form if you are providing a child’s contact details directly.

Coaches & Officials - Protect yourself If you wish to deal directly with U18’s on football matters – ensure the parent has signed a consent form. Try and use group texts / s, if you have to text / an individual always copy someone else into it. Facebook – do not accept any U18 players as friends on facebook. Websites / facebook page ensure appropriate adults (CWO) are monitoring contact of these – keep content football related – provide links to FA guidance notes via your website. Arms length, ideally you should not need to handle your players but sometimes it is necessary - always keep them at arms length – try to avoid standing in their personal space even if you are sympathising / reassuring them.
