The “United Nations” was a term coined by the US President, Franklin D. Roosevelt. Belief in fundamental human rights, justice, social progress and the value and dignity of the individual. Nations to commit themselves to unite and live together in peace

The United Nations Main Objectives:  To maintain peace and international security;  To develop friendly relations among nations;  To implement international cooperation in the economic, social, cultural and humanitarian fields;  To promote respect for human rights and fundamental freedoms;  To establish a centre where Member States can work together to achieve these common objectives.

The United Nations Who are the members of the United Nations? In 1945, there were only 51 nations Today there are 193 Member States. The United Nations (Geneva) Broken Chair is a monumental sculpture in wood by the Swiss artist Daniel Berset. It is 12 metres high. It depicts a giant chair with a broken leg and stands across the street from the Palace of Nations, in Geneva.
