AASHTO RAC/TRB Summer Meeting 2014

 Kevin Mahoney – Connecticut DOT  Mike Kirkpatrick – Delaware DOT  Curtis Bradley & Jennifer Slesinger – Massachusetts DOT

 Three first time attendees from Region 1  MA & MD added Research staff  DC received $500K for implementation  MA and NH held Research and Innovation Showcases with over 200 attendees  New England states partnered with the University of Vermont for assistance with coordinating and hosting the annual New England Materials and Research Engineer’s Meeting

 DE added state legislative language to enable the DOT to work with the University of Delaware  DE implemented a new more open process for the solicitation and selection of research projects  NH and MA received STIC funding  NH moved to deliverable based contracting systems and DE and MA are looking into it  MA received funding for Transit research  Several SHRP2 Implementation funding awards

 PA received the Innovation of the Year Award for their STIC and process for identifying innovations

 Review current meeting schedule and frequency  Begin including presentations on research results in the region on the agenda  Continue to encourage applying for SHRP2 funding and submitting High Value Research projects  Encourage participation in RAC from all states in the region  Begin using the mentoring guidelines as new RAC members are assigned
