ENERGY USE/CREATION
Windmills A wind turbine works the opposite of a fan. Instead of using electricity to make wind, like a fan, wind turbines use wind to make electricity. The wind turns the blades, which spin a shaft, which connects to a generator and makes electricity.
5 examples of energy used objects in my house 1. Microwave 2. Stove 3. Lights 4. Heat 5. Television
How Newfoundland Power creates electricity In order for Newfoundland Power to create electricity they rely on hydropower for its generation needs.
5 heating methods for my house 1. Electric heat- an advantage of this is it warms your house fast, a disadvantage of this is it breaks. 2. Woodstove- an advantage of this is it makes your house really warm, a disadvantage of this is if you don’t have a chemical detector you could die of all the chemicals. 3. Heat dish- an advantage of this is it makes your room warm, a disadvantage is it doesn’t heat up your whole house. 4. Furness- an advantage of this is it blows warm air around your house, a disadvantage of this is when it blows it gives off a little bit of cool air. 5. Oil- an advantage of this is it makes your house really warm, a disadvantage of this is it could over heat and explode.
If I had to choose one of those methods to heat up my house I would choose electric heat because it warms your house up really fast and if you get too warm all you have to do is tur it off and it cools right off. Also if it breaks all you have to do is get it fixed and that shouldn’t take a long time because its electric.
