Muskmelon The Yellow melon crop of summer vegetable crops, and features a cantaloupe at its nutritional and therapeutic value and it contains a high percentage of sugars, especially sucrose.

Harvest of Muskmelon Reaping the fruits mature and cut the neck where the neck given to protect the fruit from rotting disease. Do NOT leave the fruit in the field long after harvest and do not put it in large piles because it leads to an increase fruit damaged.

Rot In Muskmelon Physiology disease is caused by irregular irrigation and calcium deficiency This disease appears on fruit at any stage of development helps to appear imbalances in the water as a result of irregular irrigation where the disease increases when plants are thirsty, then followed by prolific irrigation.

Storage Muskmelon can be stored in good condition for 2-3 weeks at a temperature of 5-10 ° C with a relative humidity of %

Chilling injury Typically occurs after storage at temperatures <7°C for several days. Sensitivity to chilling injury decreases as melon maturity and ripeness increases. Symptoms of chilling injury include pitting, reddish-tan discoloration's, failure to ripen, off-flavors and increased surface decay.
