RHS/RETC School Improvement Goals All goals are based on review of Explore/PLAN/ACT/MME Data/ 9 th Grade is the cohort group for all implementation of the goals School-wide Literacy Goal: All students will be proficient and college ready in reading. Continuing with Mark-It Up Strategies - school wide rubric – beginning of data collection through Data Director to monitor strategy effectiveness Introduction of Close and Critical Reading Strategy English Goal: All students will be proficient and college ready in English. Continue to emphasize persuasive writing strategies which are in-line with ACT Writing Comprehensive Grammar Instruction beginning with 9 th and 10 th Grade Language Arts Math Goal: All students will be proficient and college ready in mathematics. S.L.O.T.S - Sustained, Long-term, Over Time Strategy Implementation in the Algebra I Classes Formative Assessments used to measure student progress and to discuss the impact of the curriculum Social Studies Goal: All students will be proficient and college ready in social studies. Michigan’s Mission Possible strategies will be implemented throughout the 9 th grade social studies classrooms Close and Critical Reading Strategies will also be implemented, recorded, and analyzed to track the success of the strategy through Data Director Science Goal: All students will be proficient and college ready in science. Teachers will implement problem based learning strategies to increase scientific critical thinking abilities of all students RHS VISION: To cultivate self-fulfilled, productive, contributing members of society who are committed to making a positive difference

We currently have many wonderful programs occurring in our building and this initiative will help us tie everything together to impact our learning communities. What is it and how is it going to impact our learning community? It is a 3 year systematic approach to reaching our struggling learners, but the strategies that are put in place will ultimately improve our overall student population.
