California State University CSU FresnoCui Lin 2 Largest system in US 23 campuses, ~450,000 students (large minority & 1 st -generation college student populations) CSU Fresno: only CSU campus on ATLAS or CMS CSU Consortium: 9 campuses (DH, Humboldt, LA, LB, Pomona, Sacramento, SB, SF, Stanislaus) 20 students (Fresno: 14, LB/Pomona/Sac: 6) have worked at CERN during summer since 2008

3 3 3 CSU Fresno’s ATLAS Group Faculty: Yongsheng Gao, Cui Lin (CS) Postdocs: Harinder Bawa & Andrew Lowe (both are stationed at CERN) Students: 8 Master/undergraduate physics students. Expect CS students to join soon. Very strong support from CSU Fresno Currently supported by NSF EPP: $460K (8/2009 to 7/2012) and NSF MRI: $620K (3/2010 to 2/2012). NSF EPP renewal proposal to be submitted by 10/26/2011 CSU FresnoCui Lin
