Cartoon Lagoon How to draw your favourite cartoons on paper, glass and... walls!

Reasons why to do it IT’S SIMPLE! The only thing that is necessary is your willingness to try! IT’S FUN! Art and especially cartoons can always make you smile! ;-) IT’S YOURS! Being able to see your favourite cartoon everyday hanging on the wall is really satisfying (especially when you think that you are the one that placed it there!) 

Use all means available Remember to use everything you’ve got: SKILLS: This means that you can use, for example, both of your hands when you are trying to draw something. Even if you are right-handed you can use your left hand to draw a curve that is really difficult to do with your right hand. RESOURCES: All means available are for example bottles of empty wine / beer etc. I used Lucozade bottles after I ripped of the plastic tag and added sand in them. FURNITURE: You can also use a chair if you don’t have a ladder ;-) And above all, use your IMAGINATION!

STEP 1: Choose your theme STEP 2: Get the materials Once you have decided on what to draw, you will then go to buy: 1.Brushes (small and bigger ones) 2.Colours (I used plastic paint / emulsion paint / or paint for painting the walls.) You will need the five basic colours (black, white, red, yellow, blue) and then you can mix them to get any colour you want. 3.Pencils 4.Rubber / Eraser 5.Empty plastic bottles with lids/jars (to mix the colours) 6.Paper for aquarelle/watercolour painting (if you decide to draw on paper).

STEP 3: Learn the Technique The first thing to do is look at the black layout of the cartoon you are about to draw. Then you will decide on the size. Your drawing has to be symmetrical, that means that the lines will all be the same, smaller or bigger from the original.

My first attempt on wall: Donald Duck as Phantom Duck

My second Donald : Angry Donald Duck

3 Day Challenge: Donald Duck playing the Drum

The big project: My dreamland!!! A train with all my favourite Disney characters

First draw the layout with a pencil and then start adding the colours!!

Train is finally finished: Dreamland in action

Dreamland : View from pillow

Theme project: Donald in Love

Imagination: Donald Duck in 6 A4 papers
