THE BOOK OF THE DEAD By Ethan Ray

WHAT IS IT?  Well, the book of the dead isn’t really a book, but a scroll filled with spells. Your buried with your scroll full of spells, and useful names.

WHY WAS IT USED? When the person passed into the river of the dead, there would be dangerous monsters awaiting them. The spells they put inside of the book of the dead helped them pass through the river safely to get to the weighing of the heart ceremony as fast as possible.

WHO OWNED IT? Well, pretty much the person it was made for, so they can pass through the river of the dead. It was also said that Thoth owned it since he travels with you through the river of the dead, and he is the god of knowledge.

WHERE DID IT COME FROM?  Ancient scribes made the scroll for the person when they die. Though, only rich people could afford their own spells. The poor had to use all their money to buy only a standard scroll full of basic spells. The rich had a advantage at this stage.

THANK YOU FOR READING!  I hoped this helped in explaining ancient Egypt's ancient book of the dead!
