I am currently in applied English, can I take University English next year? Frequently Asked Questions I don’t understand how COOP works? A: 4 credit COOP means you would be earning 4 credits in a designated workplace for one full semester. You will NOT be enrolled in any other course for that semester. 2 credit COOP means you will have normal courses during Periods 1 & 2 but Periods 3 & 4 you will be at your work placement earning 2 credits Can I take some College courses and some University courses? A: Yes, some students have areas of strength different from other students. If this is the case you should start inquiring on possible program pathways and schools to see what their requirements are.
● All Degree programs accept “M” courses BUT there may be a limit (IE. Schulich - grade. 122Ms only) ● All Degree programs DO require ENG4U1 ● All Degree programs DO require 6 Grade 12 University and/or Mixed Courses ● You should already know which program you may be pursuing and see what the entrance requirements are ● Several degree programs DO NOT require a “U” Math/Science (ie. Humanities (History, Philosophy), Sociology, Fine Arts (Music, Dance, Drama, Film Studies) Criminology, Modern Languages, Journalism) Should I take all “U” courses for a degree program? Do I Need all “U” Courses?
Open “O” or College “C” courses do not qualify for university but can be very beneficial for supplementary applications: ❑ Co-op ❑ Physical Education (PPL4OM) Things to keep an eye out for… Alert “O” Course for Gr. 12’s
