BJHS REAL LIFE JOB EXPERIENCE – EXPLORE A CAREER INTEREST

WHY COOP?  WORK-BASED EXPERIENCE RELATED TO STUDENT CAREER OBJECTIVES  CONTENT IS PLANNED FOR STUDENTS THROUGH A COOPERATIVE ARRANGEMENT BETWEEN THE SCHOOL AND EMPLOYER  COOP IS OPEN TO JUNIORS AND SENIORS WHO HAVE COMPLETED CAREER PREP A AND CAREER PREP B CLASSES WITH GOOD ATTENDANCE AND ON TRACK FOR GRADUATION.

Must document 140 HOURS Per Block 140 x 2 blocks = 280 hours Example – student registers for 2 Blocks of Coop (3 & 4 blocks)

COOP FAQ’S Do I need a job BEFORE I start the class? YES, you need to be employed before the class starts and have employer information ready to give the coop teacher. What if I lose my job during the class? You will need to find another job in order to earn the required 140 hours/block. If no job is found, your schedule will be changed to a different class pending availability. Do I earn High School credit for coop? Yes, you will earn 1.0 HS credit for each block when you complete the 140 hour/block requirement.
